Just thought I would share news that I have completed a pilot for a new project. I’m going to play this one a little bit closer to the chest that I have done with Devil Makes Work. As I have said before the main reason for this blog is to show the journey an average, 9-5 joe bloggs nobody like has taken to get his work HOPEFULLY produced into a fully fledged TV series, which is why I’m so open with DMW.
HOWEVER, this new project will remain secret. All I will say is that it is a comedy series of a subject matter that is very close to my heart. It is also a live action series as oppose to animation, and I have it in mind as a 6 part series, but NOT a sit-com. The pilot is with a number of people right now to be reviewed and I’m just waiting on feedback and notes. I will keep you updated as to its progress but its content shall remain a secret 😉
Wow, hadn’t realised how long it had been since I was last on here. Sorry for the lack of updates just things have being going on at pace for me at the moment. I was made redundant from my job in April and was unemployed for 5 months, so that allowed me plenty of time to write and work on my projects, however I started a new 9-5 job in September and it has knocked the winds out of my sails as I have been exhausted every night and as a result, allowed the blog to go un updated. I hope to rectify that starting today!
Anyway, some updates on my projects, first TIM, it has gone through a rewrite after a meeting I had with a local film producer who really liked the first draft but felt it needed something more in the middle of the story, as I had taken it one direction he felt it didnt need. So that 2nd draft is back with him and he has been in touch to tell me that he is passing it onto a film director to have a read and offer some notes, but things are looking encouraging for TIM.
DEVIL MAKES WORK meanwhile, has stalled a little, we need model sheets before CVisual can do any animation work, so Kenneth who created our character sheets, is doing these, but again cause its freelance work we have to wait till he gets a spare moment to do them. Once they are done we can start moving on with that, so watch this space. Im hoping the promo will be completed anytime now, I will be contacting the animator to see if he can get that completed soon. As soon as that is done I will post it up!
Thats it for now.
A great new service has become available for free! The people over at screenplayraders.com have launched a script reading service called first 10 pages. As many wanna be screen writers know, the first ten pages are key when trying to get a producer or agent to fall in love with your script. Your film could live or die by those ten pages. So this service has been set up to help budding writers ensure that there script is well on its way to being the best it can be and hopefully produced.
All you do is upload the first ten pages of your latest screenplay to the site, then in approx 24/48 hours time they will post feedback for you on their forum. I have actually already used the service and think its fantastic, I recommend it, also any service designed to help you in your screen writing endeavours is surly a good thing.

This is just a heads up. The BBC is running a competition called the Alfred Bursary Award. Its a chance for writers based in the North to get their work on BBC Radio 4. The competition is to create a feature drama that will be suitible for Radio 4’s Drama afternoon. The purpose is to encourage new writing talent based in teh North. The prize is a fantastic one, first of all you recieve a bursary of £5000, have your work comissioned and on BBC radio 4 and 12 month mentoring under a Radio Drama Producer and best of all, the opportunity to have future work developed.
This is a great oppoortunity to anyone wanting to break into writing, as its a common fact that most of todays great writers, started off doing Radio before they broke into TV. I myself will be entering this competition and I have spent all night coming up with my story, which I now have. The competitions closing date is 10am Thursday 15th September (2011) so get your entries in now. Below is a link to the website which contains all the details!
If you enter let me know!

Hi all, well this is just a quick post to let you know that I have a new role, working alongside The Leo Media and Entertainment Group. I will be working as a Development Associate, which basically means I will be helping new writers develop their projects from start to finish, the finish hopefully being a fully produced film / TV show or novel.
If you do have something that you want help developing then please, don’t get in touch with me yet, you would need to go through email@example.com and submit your project proposal there, if you would like help from me, then feel free to include my name in the initial email, but it is not up to me if the project comes to me.
Leo Media represent my work and they have done a great job so far, edging closer to some of my own work being fully produced / financed. So I really cannot recommend them enough. You can also submit your work at the below address, I have included contact numbers in case you want to ring them for more information.
